Rhonda Hardison

Rhonda Yvonne Hardison, 56, of Brooklyn, NY, peacefully entered into eternal life, surrounded by and in the loving care of her family on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Harold Jones and the late Joyce Ann Hardison. Rhonda attended Public School 304, Junior High School in Ridgewood Queens. After High School, Rhonda worked at the New York City Police Department as a Secretary. She felt the need to do more, so she took the Crossing Guard exam and passed. She then worked as a school crossing guard throughout the Brooklyn region. Rhonda loved everyone, but she had a stronger love for children. in the early 80's Rhonda became the Director for "Save the Children", which was a school that focused on children with special needs and learning disabilities. Rhonda was a teacher, a mentor, and a mother to many. She has taught a lot of young men and women how to cook. Everyone who knew Rhonda knew her for her cooking, which she was the best at. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas people would like up at her door to pay her for plates of food. Rhonda was a woman who kept her door open for any and everybody, whether they needed a place to sleep or a hot meal to eat, she was right there for them. Not only did Rhonda have a love for cooking and children, but she also had a love to dance. In the late 80's Rhonda started teaching dance and aerobic classes at the Salvation Army in Brooklyn, NY. A few artist that Rhonda was passionate about were Michael Jackson, Nelly and Prince. She enjoyed watching basketball often, especially when her favorite team "The Lakers" played. Rhonda Yvonne Hardison accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Her favorite scripture in the Bible was Psalms 23. She would quote it often without even looking at the Bible. If you went into her room you'd see she kept her bible on her shelf opened to the book of Psalms. Rhonda Yvonne Hardison left behind for memories her children, three daughters - Nikea, Nakeema and Shakena: three sons - Deshon, Marques and Jamal, who she raised since birth; two brothers - Brian and Bernard; four sisters -Robin, Sherrie, Harolynn and Cassie; nine grandchildren - Shakia, Aliza, Takima, Tikea, Nakyla, Javon, Taiena, Amai, Azari; and a host of nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
