Maxime Mack

On November 18, 2015 Ms. Maxine Mack departed from her physical life and began her eternal life in heaven. I ask that God guide my hand and heart as I write my mother's farewell address. You see this can not be an ordinary obituary, mainly because Ms. Maxine was not an ordinary person. Ms. Maxine was born on September 12, 1940 in Queens, NYC. She attended Lincoln High School. Ms Maxine had a vision to teach the children (young ladies) about their heritage through dance. That's when she started her beloved Rob-Shante dance group. Classes were held at Carey Gardens Community Center. Countless young ladies not only learned to dance, but they learned to be self-confident, respectful and dignified. Ms. Maxine was "Coney Island", she loved her community and her community loved her. It always amazed me how she could walk down the street and everyone knew her. Ms. Maxine was and continues to be and inspiration for many, many family and friends. Ms. Maxine was employed by New York City Housing Authority, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, Sanitation Dept.,Robyn's Bus Company and Jewish Community Council where she retired. Ms. Maxine leaves to mourn her loving husband Richard Bolds Sr., her daughter Dawn Best, her son Richard Bolds Jr and 10 grandchildren - Jade Bolds, Richard Bolds III, Rance Bolds, Ryan Bolds, Keazia Bolds, Ashley Bolds, Brenda Bolds, Rania Bolds, Ryker Bolds, you could not see Ms. Maxine without seeing her oldest granddaughter Jalilissa Marcus. Jalilissa was her ride and die, her everything. Ms. Maxine also leaves to mourn her beloved daughter-in-law Joyce Bolds, mother-in-law Edith Bolds, sisters-in-law Jacqueline and Corrine Bolds. Ms. Maxine also had an extended community family, which she adopted, these people have been part of her life for many, many years and we will acknowledge them as well. Take with you these words - Ms. Maxine was the light that guided you in darkness with her own style and undying, loving spirit will be forever with us. I want you to know that Ms. Maxine is now in a place called home where she will be at peace, for sickness does not dwell there. Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
