Donna Edwards

Donna Marie Jemison Edwards, the beloved daughter of the (late) Robert Lee Johnson and Mamie Jemison, was born January 8th 1959, in Brooklyn New York (Coney Island). Donna received her early education in the New York City public school system in Brooklyn. On September 8th 1977 Donna Married Deacon William Loneil Edwards from this union they had five children that were a blessing to their marriage along with three sons. Donna joined in the work force as a home health care worker and school bus matron, until she became ill, but more importantly she was a full-time mother to her children, as well as their friend. Those that knew Ms. Donna knew her to be a loving mother, as well as a caring and giving person with a humble heart and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Donna also loved to cook and was great at it. You was always guaranteed to get a good meal anytime you dropped in on her. She should have been called Aunt Sweet Cakes because she sure knew how to bake a mean cake. On December 25th 2015 our beloved angel of God, Donna joined in spirit her beloved two sons, Rodney Edwards and Pierre Holmes. Grandson Ivan, Father & Mother in law, Mr. Hercules & Mrs. Gloria Edwards, sister, Bridgett Jemison and very special cousin Mary Carolyn Williams. Those left to cherish Donna*s loving memory, her husband Deacon William Loneil Edwards of Brooklyn, NY, Her 6 children Loneil and Williams Edwards of Bklyn, NY, Falisa Edwards and Theresa Dawson of Bingleton , NY. Zeluric Edwards of Brooklyn, NY. Michael Brandon of Brooklyn NY, Son in law Roosevelt Dawson of Bingleton, NY, Daughters in Law- Tory Wilson of Brooklyn NY, Quanisha Gordon of Bingleton, NY, and a son from another mother I-Mel Farmer. 8 Grandchildren- Kevin, Shamel, Hainfe, Daquan, Alondra, Zakiah, Syieda, Jahking. 2 Great-Grandchildren-Kamari and Jamari. 5 Brothers- William Pelzer, Reginald, Stewart, Leslie and Keith Jemison. 3 Sisters- Mamie and Joyce Jemison and Roslind Stokley. Her eldest surviving aunt * Dorothy William (aunt DOT) and close and special cousin Betty Sue Houston (Cousin Bet). Donna longtime companion Michael Johnson. 4 Brothers in law, 5 Sisters in Law, 3 special and close friends * Ann Farmer, DeeDee Harper and Lorraine Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donna always greeted you with a smile and open heart. She will be truly missed. We the Family are sadden by the untimely demise of our loved one. But are grateful that her suffering on Earth*s disappointments are no longer a part of her life, and that our loved one now rest in the hands of our Heavenly Father.
